Tämä koko sopii pienille/keskikokoisille 19-22 mm solmun kokoisille partasudeille eli ns. matkapartasudeille. Kokoa kostutetulla sudilla n. 5 erää partasaippuaa tähän kulhoon ennen kuin alat vatkata. Sen sisäänpäin kaareutuvat reunat kokoavat vaahdon siististi kulhoon. Määrä riittää ainakin 1 parranajokertaan kolmella eri passilla (myötä-, poikki- ja vastakarvaan). Tämä ajo hoituu vaikka yksiterähöylillä.
Mikäli aikoisi pitää tätä kulhoa kuumassa vedessä partavaahdon lämmittämiseksi, niin sen kahvasta puuttuu partasudin pidike.
