Shaving Soaps

Shaving soap or cream washes the natural oils from the hair, making it easier to shave. The lather also protects the skin during shaving and improves the movement of the blade, so that it cuts the hair comfortably and does not damage the skin. Soap comes in either a traditional hard bar or a soft cream, or something in between. However, the end result is the same in either case.

The moist shaving brush is placed on hard soap for half a minute, rotating the brush, or a couple of centimeters of cream is applied on the brush. Then, in both cases, the soap is whipped with a brush in a bowl for about a minute and the lather is ready. Most soaps are suitable for all users, but it is a good idea to consider your skin type when choosing soap. There are many soaps for people with sensitive skin that contain little or no fragrance. For particularly dry skin, we recommend a very moisturizing soap or cream. For example, NSC Natural shaving soap is both fragrance-free and very moisturising.

The thickness of your beard hair can also affect your choice of soap. If your beard hair is particularly coarse and difficult to shave, we recommend, for example, the red Sandalwood series from the Italian brand Proraso.
